Oh, lovely
I just had 3/4s of my apartment flood. Not terribly deep - 3 inches maybe in the (low floored) bedroom and less than one throughout the kitchen, bathroom, and the half of the living room that got eaten - but enough to ruin the rug and the nice carpet that was a christmas gift and three of my four bookshelves, to soak my clothes and damage the bed and generally ruin my entire day. Kemono no Souja Erin
So, I've got an anime rec for y'all. It is, as above, called Kemono no Souja Erin, apparently based off of a book by Nahoko Uehashi, who's a college prof teaching anthropology... and a novelist. One of her earlier books was made into one of the all-around best anime I've ever seen, Seirei no Moribito, or 'Guardian of the Sacred Spirit'. The animation house, Production I.G., was responsible not only for SnM, but for the Ghost in the Shell TV shows, also. KnSE has a very different and distinct, almost fairy-tale-ish look to it from the episode I've seen so far, but it works, and the excellent characterization and wonderful, well-built setting that I loved about SnM are fully intact. How irksome.
The updater for the new City of Heroes issue is not only stupidly slow, but it insists on downloading the entire game over again rather than using the copy I put in the 'Test' folder for it. Bad form, NCsoft. Also, realization brought on by too much Dawn of War and EPU's Warriors of the Outer Rim: HK-47 is a cheery, personable red Necron. Current Mood: annoyed |
